Overview
Footprint Staffing is seeking a compassionate and proactive School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades K–12. The ideal candidate will foster a safe and inclusive school environment, provide individual and group counseling, and collaborate with educators and families to promote student success.
Key Responsibilities
Provide short-term individual and group counseling to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
Support students in goal-setting, decision-making, and conflict resolution
Assist with crisis intervention and referrals to outside mental health services when needed
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies that support student achievement
Implement school-wide programs that promote social-emotional learning, mental health awareness, and positive behavior
Participate in IEP and 504 plan development and meetings as needed
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and school policies
Qualifications
Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor
Experience working in educational settings preferred
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with MTSS, PBIS, and SEL frameworks
Experience with trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive counseling
Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively
Proficiency in digital counseling tools and student information systems
